Time to switch it up!

So far, this blog has been about my own actions on my journey to become a Registered Dietitian.  Though this may have been somewhat beneficial to you, but I’ve decided I want to make it more beneficial for you.  I’m about to change things up!  I hope to inspire you to continue reading, but most importantly, to live your life happily and healthfully.

Since I’m a Nutrition student, I hope to relay to you some of the facts I learn in my classes.  Last quarter in my Nutrition Education class, I learned that it is important to “start where the people are.”  Health professionals are encouraged to understand their client’s needs before educating them.  There shouldn’t be a “you must do this” attitude, but rather a collaborative effort must be in place to facilitate behavior change.

In the future, I hope you gain ideas about what you can cook up, what new products you can try, and how you can find resources to live a healthier life.  I know that I can’t do this without your help, so let me know what questions you have and what things you’d like discussed!

Hello, and welcome to the new healthyglowandgo.wordpress.com.  What can I do for you?

Happy Birthday Julia!

As she quoted last night, “Tori, tomorrow is about to be the most popular day ever in my Facebook life.”

Yes, Julia, you’re probably right.  What was she referring to?? Wellll…………

Today is my sister’s birthday! She turns 17!! I’d say its a big milestone for her.

After all, 18 is when you’re as an considered an adult, right?  And if you know her, you know she’s definitely not an adult yet! 😉

Besides me, my family, her friends, and her cell phone here are some things Julia loves:

2) ?

Yeah, turtles pretty much sum it up.   Honestly, her obsession with turtles could make your head spin.  I still don’t understand why she likes them so much.  I think it’s an inside joke with some of her friends, but I have no idea. And that’s ok by me.

To understand what I mean by “her obsession,” here are some photos of Julia sharing her turtle love.

One of the many turtles she keeps at the foot of her bed:

She (on the right) and her friends even brought some turtle love to Florida!

Not even hesitating to spread the turtle on Space Mountain.

Let it be your most popular day on facebook ever.

My Very First Blog Post!

Hello out there, whomever may be reading this! I’m glad you stopped by my new page!

I’ve been contemplating starting a blog for a month or so now, and finally decided to go for it.  I’m so excited to see what this blogging adventure has in store for me, and I hope you’re excited for it too!

I’m a Human Nutrition (Dietetics) major at The Ohio State University and I completely love it.   I have a deep-rooted feeling that this is where I’m supposed to be and this is what I’m supposed to be doing.

This is what my blog will consist of:

  • mainly, some notes about nutrition, food, exercise: my utmost passion
  • short articles…I’m a busy person and you are too!  I promise not to overwhelm you with too much at once 🙂
  • a few of my adventures at Ohio State and in Columbus, Ohio
  • any other fascinating things I’m able to share with you!

Thank you for stopping by! See ya back real soon!
